Last Saturday’s Cuppa Conversation bus trip for 23 migrant friends and accompanying Rotarians to enjoy the delights of the Barossa was an outstanding success. We explored the delights of hearing the acoustics of the Whispering Wall, visiting the Lavender Farm, enjoying a wine tasting at Gibson’s Wines under a beautifully shady verandah and trees, and other highlights for our Cuppa migrants (and accompanying Rotarians) to enjoy.
Our thanks to Duncan and Kerrie Irvine (from RC of Adelaide Parks) who drove (and navigated) the 25-seater bus, and Yvette’s 12-seater (dubbed the “party bus”) as Latin American music was being played from Lili’s phone playlist and choristers abounded! Beautiful weather, and the tour planning of Community Services Director Kirsti (and attendee follow-up by Lili) ensured a well run event. Thanks to everyone – including our hosts at the Lavender Farm and Gibson’s Wines - who helped make this a fantastic day-tour of the stunning Barossa Valley!
On Tuesday, 24 February 2025, six Adelaide Light Rotarians – and a guest Cristy Pamment from Catherine House - will be attending the Rotary Metropolitan Adelaide Clubs Community Group Dinner at the Skyline Restaurant at Rydges Adelaide, South Terrace. The major guest speakers will be Ms Mary Leaker, CEO of Embolden, and the Hon Katrine Hildyard, Minister for Domestic, Family & Sexual Violence.
Club-sponsored RYLA attendee Madhav gave us an outstanding update on what he gained when attending the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards week at our breakfast meeting last week.
This coming Thursday is 9.30am Coffee Catch-up at the White Picket Café.
