Last Thursday morning, we welcomed back John from his overseas trekking trip. Soon to be inducted Ian Delaere has been away visiting his mother in Far North Queensland for her 90th birthday; happy birthday Mrs Delaere!
Katey has been busy organising another roster for the coming months for tutoring English to Wahab, Wahida and Rasa Abidi; thanks to all the volunteers Chio, Katey, Bethany, Margie, Liz, Kirsti and Yvette for volunteering so far for the October/November period.
This coming Thursday is dinner from 6pm at the Kent Town Hotel.
Next Saturday (28 September) is Cuppa Conversation at the Adelaide Botanic Garden’s Fibonacci Café from 10am. With the weather looking perfect, it should be a great venue. Thanks again Lili for organising the event and publicising it on our WhatsApp page.
Best wishes and have a great week. Yvette, President.
I wanted to inform you about the next Cuppa Conversation, which will be held this Saturday, 28th September, at 10:00 AM at Café Fibonacci (Evergreen Deli) in the Botanic Gardens.
The weather forecast looks great for an outdoor meeting, and I would love to see the Rotarians join us for this activity.
Much of this year's fundraising will help build village water supplies in Timor Lesté, just north west of Darwin.
Warmest regards,
John Wotherspoon

P.S. Our Hither & Yon Grenache is now sold out, so a pallet of suitable shiraz won't be far behind.
Mitchell - Alcatraz Riesling 2022
Mitchell’s three key Clare Valley vineyards range in altitude from 300 to 450 metres; the Sevenhill Vineyard, Alcatraz Vineyard and Growers Vineyard.
Their Alcatraz Vineyard in the heart of Clare Valley was planted in 1962 on an exposed easterly facing slope and nicknamed "Alcatraz" as there was no escaping the cold, wet winter days spent working the vines.
Its old vines are grown on red loam over limestone soils with an east-facing slope that receives the gentle morning sun, but is sheltered from the direct sun in the heat of the afternoon.
The dry grown vines are hand pruned and handpicked with no artificial fertilisers, pesticides or herbicides used in growing these grapes. This largely explains why the vineyard produces award-winning quality wines year-on-year.
This medium bodied, dry white wine is a delicious Riesling with generous flavour and refreshing acidity. It’s a crisp, mouth-watering wine that’s ready to drink now, comparing well to much more expensive wines.

A woman and a man are involved in a car accident; it's a bad one. Both of their cars are totally demolished but amazingly neither of them are hurt.
After they crawl out of their cars, the woman says, “Wow, just look at our cars! There's nothing left, but fortunately we are unhurt. This must be a sign from God that we should meet and be friends."
Flattered, the man replied, "Oh yes, I agree with you completely!" "This must be a sign from God!"
The woman continued, "And look at this, here's another miracle. My car is completely demolished but this bottle of wine didn't break. Surely God wants us to drink this wine and celebrate our good fortune."
Then she hands the bottle to the man, The man nods his head in agreement, opens it and drinks half the bottle and then hands it back to the woman.
The woman takes the bottle, immediately puts the cap back on, and hands it back to the man.
The man asks, "Aren't you having any?"
The woman replies, "No. I think I'll just wait for the police..."
