We are currently exploring a new project, which is to support Williams' Wardrobe. They are a non- profit organisation that clothes the homeless in the city and rely on donations. They are present on Wednesday nights when we do Fred's Van.  It began just after Mothers’ Day in 2020, as a legacy to William, the founder's son, who lived on the city streets for 2 years and sadly took his life in February 2020. They provide second hand clean clothes and bedding, as well as new underwear and toiletries to those that are in need. In April this year they were able to purchase a second hand van (after winning a competition) which helps with their weekly trips and storage but has meant their expenditure has increased considerably. The majority of those they assist are men, but numbers of women are increasing. 

After contacting them to determine their highest priority, they have asked for a donation towards the running and servicing of the van, stating they have enough clothing and bedding donations at this time. They are however always wanting bars of soap, which they have to purchase. 

One of the ideas we discussed at our last meeting was to provide an ongoing donation over a number of years and the committee has voted in favour of this. 

I propose that the club makes a $1000 donation for the next 3 years towards the running and maintenance of the William's Wardrobe van. This has now been approved by the Board.
