With only one week to go… wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and happy holidays with your family and friends.
As our Club takes a two week break from meetings over Christmas and New Year, our first meeting back will be Thursday 8 January 2026 at the Croquet Club for breakfast. Our wonderful Secretary Di Lane takes a break from distributing this newsletter for those two weeks, so put this date in your diary!
Last Friday night’s Christmas Croquet Challenge with the Adelaide City Rotaract Club was tremendous fun and great camaraderie. We had six Rotaractors vying for the coveted Silver Teapot Trophy for winning the most games at Croquet; helped by our Cuppa Conversationalist attendees to make up the numbers. Rob and Paige went to pick up the abundance of pizzas for our dinner, and Paul Ensor, John and Rob were our official teachers in the art of croquet. With only two pups born to my Schnauzer, I was able to attend the night and catch up with many of our Rotarian partners.
In a closely fought match, Adelaide City Rotaract Club beat Adelaide Light Rotary 14 to 13 points; so we handed over the Silver Teapot Trophy – we’ll have to see who wins it next year!
Thanks to all who attended on this wonderfully warm night. It was a great night to celebrate the start of the holiday season.
Last Thursday morning, a wonderful band of Santa’s elves helped stuff goodie bags for Fred’s Van customers to be handed out by our members rostered on Christmas Eve. Beautifully orchestrated by Kirsti Kankkunen and Paige Honor, with Cuppa Conversationists attending to assist, 70 bags were stuffed with goodies to help people in need.
Christmas Tree and tree stand sales, organised by Rob McLennan, were again very successfully sold at Bunnings Kent Town. Thanks to all the volunteers for your time and effort in helping raise Club funds over the two weekends prior to Christmas.
