Last Saturday, we had a packed Cuppa Conversation at Boccelli’s Café, with conversationalists from Peru, Chile, Sri Lanka and Columbia. We were also joined by our RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) nominee Madhav (of Indian descent) who attended the event after his interview process with Youth Co-Director Ian and former Youth Director Alison. Sparkling conversation abounded down the long table throughout the morning coffee/breakfast event.
 
Erfan mentioned in a lovely sms that he “remembers with love and kindness when (he and the family) arrived (in Adelaide) exactly four years ago” on 1 September 2021. Erfan said he will always be grateful. Our Club’s initial mentoring of the family, helping them establish themselves in the community and their hard work to bring more of their family into Australia; Erfan becoming a member of our Rotary Club and his integrity and social conscience to help young girls who require education in Afghanistan have been exemplary. Adelaide Light were lucky to have been chosen as your host Club, Erfan.
 
 
This coming Thursday is Coffee Catchup at the White Picket Café from 9.30am. See you there.

Jokes Corner
A juggler, driving to his next performance, is stopped by the police.
 
"What are those machetes doing in your car?" asks the policeman.
 
"I juggle them in my act."
 
"Oh, yeah?" Says the doubtful policeman. "Let's see you do it.”
 
The juggler gets out and starts tossing and catching the knives.
 
Another man driving by slows down to watch. "Wow" says the passer-by to his passenger. "I'm glad I quit drinking. Look at the test they're giving now!"
