Hi Deborah and John,
How are you? I have just come back home from Tanzania. Great news is that I made it to the top of Kilimanjaro. I am proud of myself because I was suffering from altitude sickness already at about 4000m but I didn`t give up. The day of summiting was the hardest with heavy headache and a constant short of breath and I was tying hard not to throw up all the way up. But the harder it was the bigger achievement I am feeling now. I would never forget the feeling that I finally got to the highest point of the mountain after all the tough challenge.
Just before I flew to Tanzania, I found out that I have been awarded the fellowship to Harvard. So, I will start a new position in Boston from this November. That is also good news. I think life is like a climbing a high mountain; ascending step by step is the only way to reach a big goal.
Now that I know I will move to Boston for sure, I can plan a specific schedule for the next few months. There are a few things I still have to do in Zurich, so I think I will be visiting Adelaide probably around the beginning of September.
Cheers,
Yuya
