District Conference, Bendigo 14-17 March 2013
A number of members and their partners travelled to Bendigo in march ofr the Rotary District 9500 Conference. There were a number of presentations, amongst which was one by our own Miriam Silva, a great show from the Vocational Training Team which was visiting at the time from the Philippines, and several sessions on membership issues. Inspirational talks were also given by Li Cunxin (Mao's Last Dancer), who spoke of his desire from an early age to seize any opportunity he had to lift himself out of poverty, and Matina Jewell, the ex-Australian army officer, who was injured while a UN peacekeeper near the border of Israel, Lebanon and Syria.
