Unley Symphony Orchestra
Karen has been playing clarinet in the Unley Symphony Orchestra since the mid-90’s. Karen is currently the Sponsorship Manager for the Royal Adelaide Show, a role she has held for the last 11 years.
The Unley Symphony Orchestra began back in 1980 when it was just a small group of amateur musicians who began performing under the name of The Glen Osmond Chamber Orchestra. In 1983 the council of the City of Unley agreed to provide rehearsal facilities and the group changed its name to Unley Chamber Orchestra to reflect that invaluable support. In 2003 the orchestra changed its name to Unley Symphony Orchestra to better reflect its size and the repertoire regularly performed. The Unley Symphony Orchestra today has 60+ members and performs 3 concerts each year within the City of Unley. Last year (2016) it moved its concert venue to Annesley Junior School after more than 30 years of performances held in St Augustine’s Church.
