Our Don and Phil: A Remarkable Story of Friendship and Encouragement

In the middle of the exciting first season of international cricket played at the redeveloped Adelaide Oval, the Rev Phil Hoffmann, who has become well known to our club, will tell us about a friendship he had, beginning in his childhood, with Sir Donald Bradman.  8 letters over 11 years [1972 - 83] and two personal visits led to career guidance, and are special insights into a story that appeared nation-wide at Sir Don's passing in 2001.  Club members Dean Sullivan and Phil Harding also have some memories and memorabilia to share with us in this tribute to the great man.
