Cows for Cambodia

Give a man a fishing rod............

Over the past 4 years this fund raising program has established a herd of 50 cows and one lucky bull (!) from which pregnant cows are given to villagers to care for until the calf is born. The calf then becomes their property – a total of 25 calves have been distributed.

The plan now is to purchase a further 120 cows from the Northern Territory to be transferred to land leased by this program that will ensure the process can continue.  Andrew “Cosi” Costello (“South Aussie with Cosi”) being the instigator of the program, will gratefully recognise any contribution by Rotary.

As an aside, there is a unique “Facebook” program that enables people in Australia to purchase “on line” bags of rice for Cambodian underprivileged families.
