38 players, 2 coaches, and many from the community were on hand at the 2010 Legends of Delphi basketball game to support their favorite players & heroes from the past and to raise money for scholarships!

38 players, 2 coaches, and many from the community were on hand at the 2010 Legends of Delphi basketball game to support their favorite players & heroes from the past and to raise money for scholarships!
The 2nd Annual Delphi Rotary-Legends of Delphi Alumni Basketball Extravaganza was held February 20, 2010 at the high school gym.
Once again the odd year graduates were in tip-top form and defeated the even year graduates handily with their height and disciplined athletic skills. The odd year grads came out ready to play in the third quarter and opened up a big lead after a close first half. However, the even year grads, with a gritty trapping full-court zone defense, mounted a comeback in the second half, but fell just short in their bid to win the 2nd annual event. A 3 point contest was held at halftime with Rainey (Alting) Jones ('96) defeating last years champion, Kyle Wagner ('96) in the finals. This marks the second year that the even year grads have had both finalists in the 3 point competition.
It was good to hear the laughter and see the smiles on everyone's faces, even the players as they were running up and down the court! All had a fun afternoon at this event raising money for Rotary scholarships and the Delphi Athletic Department. The current Delphi boys basketball team also raised money for Coaches v. Cancer at the game this year.
