Delphi Rotary "Legends of Delphi" Alumni Basketball Extravaganza, Saturday, 4/5/14! What: Delphi Rotary Club in conjunction with the Delphi Oracle Alumni Association announce the 5th Annual "Legends of Delphi" Alumni Basketball Extravaganza When: Saturday, April 5, 2014, gym opens at 1pm, festivities start at 2pm Where: Delphi High School Gym Who: The game is open to both boys & girls that graduated from Delphi at least 10 years ago (2003 class would be youngest class). Why: Raise money for Buddy Bag Outreach, scholarships for 2014 DCHS graduates, other great Rotary causes, DCHS Athletic Department, & the Delphi Oracle Alumni Association The Delphi Rotary Club in conjunction with the Delphi Oracle Alumni Association announce the 6th Annual "Legends of Delphi" Alumni Basketball Game on Saturday, April 5th, 2014! The gym opens at 1pm for player shoot around, the game & other festivities will start at 2pm. Mark your calendars, make arrangements, get plane tickets, start getting in shape, whatever it takes to come and participate in the 6th Annual ball game! The purpose for this fun-filled, community uniting event is to raise money for the Delphi Rotary Club for High School graduates scholarships, the Buddy Bag Outreach; the DCHS Athletic Department, & the Delphi Oracle Alumni Association. The game is for Delphi Alumni (girls & boys) who graduated at least 10 years ago (class of 2003 would be the youngest class). If you went to a township or town school pre-consolidation that fed into the Delphi system, you are more than welcome to participate. We need you to RSVP if you would like to participate! Please let us know what year you graduated and what size shirt you need--or if you already have one from last year. Please RSVP HERE! or on Delphi Rotary's Facebook Alumni Game event page-Click HERE! Please 'Like' the event on the Rotary Club of Delphi's Facebook 'event' page, and invite your friends and family. If you are a band, cheerleader, or pom alum wanting to participate, we will get you in touch with the right people. The band director did say that he may be able to provide and instrument, if needed. We need you to RSVP if you would like to participate! RSVP HERE! There is a $5 admission fee for everyone! Players, there is a $10 fee for your team jersey/t-shirt to reimburse the Rotary Club (you can wear your shirt from last year, if you still have it). All community members near & far, past & present, as well as all Rotary Members are encouraged to attend this big, fun-filled community uniting fund raiser! Please help spread the word to everyone you know, including old coaches, cheerleaders, poms, band members, etc. and help us pack the gym! The gym will open early for warm up and camaraderie. In the past this event has drawn 40+ participants from up to 30 years ago and many fans-including some alumni cheerleaders, poms, band, & old coaches! A 3 point contest & free throw contest will be held at halftime & between quarters as well as other festivities. You can find pictures from the past games from a "Legends of Delphi" Alumni Basketball link on the left hand side or from the Oracle Alumni website! RSVP HERE! Then pay attention for more emails & information about the game as the weekend approaches! We would also like all the Legendary Delphi coaches & players from the past (boys & girls) to be present at the game if at all possible-even if they are not playing in the game (there is the free throw & 3 point competitions), so if you know how to get a hold of anyone, let us know! There will also be a “$1 Pop Shot” at halftime, where anyone can come out of the stands and donate $1 for the chance to shoot a free throw. If they make it, they win a 2 liter bottle of pop. All proceeds of the Pop Shot go to the Buddy Bag Outreach, which the Rotary Club of Delphi sponsors. Spread the word & help us build for this fantastic event! Thank you! |
