What? Were our Sunrise Club members' hippies in a previous era? Nope, their latest volunteer effort was at the Denver Home & Garden Show. Rotary Clubs from all over Denver gathered up the flowers and plants when the show broke down. We, along with 100+ Rotarians & Boy Scouts collect the flowers, put them into large boxes and take them to waiting tractor trailers. The next day, Rotarians deliver the flowers to retirement and nursing homes around the area. Arvada Rotary does a great job organizing this and several of us have been doing it for years. Also there from our club were Jim Horner, Earl Hasz, John Shonsey (new member), and his wife Linda, not pictured. My grandson likes taking the light rail up and back with Earl and me. Thanks!
