In unique and beautiful setting of the Basilica of the Monastery Neustift took place this year for the 37th time the award of music scholarships to deserving young musicians under the expert guidance of friend Mario Castiglioni instead. In the presence of many honorary branches, officials, honorary members and members of women's RC of Brixen, Bolzano and Merano (about 80 passengers) missed our club three young, deserving music students of our province, each a scholarship and a certificate of honor. President Werner Flaim welcomed those present and briefly explained the objectives of Rotary service and then gave the floor to friend Mario Castiglioni, organizer of this event. After the presentation of the "musical curriculum vitae" of the winners by Mario Castiglioni give them each a taste of its capabilities with the performance of both classical and modern pieces of music:
Benedict Baldauf - representing the German language group my music pieces: Toccata I by Georg Muffat (1653-1704) -T occata in D minor by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750);
Valeria Mussner - representing the Ladin with the following song: "Concert n.7 in mi minore" by François Devienne; Flute and Piano by Dorota Dobosz.
Ivan Varollo - as representative of the Italian language group with the following songs: "Wonderwall" by Oasis, "Yesterday" by the Beatles, and accompanied by a guitar teacher prof. Hubert Dorigatti, "Bossa Dorado" of Dorado Schmitt;
The Music Prize has for decades been one of the main services of the Rotary Club Brixen. By supporting our RC wants to promote the human and musical growth of young and talented musicians of our region. The large audience thanked the young music students with enthusiastic applause. The ceremony is completed by President Werner Flaim with the awarding of the prize money and a certificate.
Subsequently, Rotarians and guests gather in the traditional "Stiftskeller" the monastery Neustift a special buffet. In a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere of conviviality and friendship, but especially in rotarischem sense, ended this impressive and traditional event.
To 22.00 pm the President ended the interesting evening, thanked everyone and reminded of the last date of his tenure on Tuesday, 7:07:06. 2016 at 19.30 pm, at the Hotel Elefant, the ceremonial handover Rotary Club Brixen with an aperitif in the garden, followed by dinner in the grand ballroom. All members of their families and friends are invited to attend.
