RYE Program

Bio: Kristi Adams first learned of Rotary in 1988, when she was selected to become a Rotary Exchange Student at the age of 15. After spending her junior year of high school in France, Kristi learned the value of Service Above Self and volunteered with Rotary Youth Exchange for many years. In 2008, she became a Rotarian. She served as club president last year and will become Chair of Mountain and Plains District 5470 Rotary Youth Exchange next year. She has hosted 13 Rotary Exchange Students, and her 2 sons also became Rotary Exchange Students (to Germany and Brazil). She believes that Rotary Youth Exchange shapes young leaders and helps them build peace though cultural understanding and flexibility.  Outside of Rotary, Kristi serves on the board of the United Way of Mesa County, and she has been a commercial banker at Bank of the San Juans for 8 years.
