Serve to Change Lives

Welcome to the Rotary Club of Grand Junction. It is an honor and privilege to serve as your President for the 2021-2022 year. I welcome everyone to join our club or to visit as a guest to enjoy fellowship, friendship, and diversity as we serve our community and create beneficial projects that change humanity locally and around the world. Please join us for a lunch or evening meeting to see what exciting opportunities Rotary can offer you.

This year’s theme, Serve to Change Lives, by Rotary International President Shekhar Mehta urges members to become more involved in service projects, saying that caring for and serving others is the best way to live because it changes not only other people’s lives, but also our own.

Do More, Grow More. In 2021-2022, we will dream big! Over the next 12 months, we hope to accomplish many new and exciting goals for our club. Including:

Membership, Each One Bring One. Our goal is to double our membership and continue to create a welcoming club atmosphere. We will enhance our membership options by creating a new corporate membership program to offer more opportunities for working professionals. We will expand and enhance our evening club to serve as an alternative option to our regular lunch meetings. Our club will create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture that is essential to realizing our vision of a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change.

Service Above Self: We will continue to serve Grand Junction with our core programs including 1st Grade Literacy, Back to School Supplies, Robinhood Grants, Salvation Army bell ringing, the Banff Film Festival, Snowball Sweepstakes, JUCO, CMU Scholarships, and support of our local Rotary Foundation. We will expand our service opportunities by writing a minimum of 4 District and 2 Global grant projects. It is important that we join and support other Rotary clubs to make a difference around the world. Finally, Rotary International has added a seventh area of focus:  Supporting the Environment. It is my goal to have at least two service projects that go to helping the environment and creating a better world in which to live.

Fellowship and Friendship: We will continue to be a welcoming and fun club that encourages social activities, friendship, goodwill, and networking opportunities for all members and guests.

Development and Education: We will continue to educate our members and guests with outstanding meeting programs and lectures. We will update our members about Local, District, and International Rotary projects that are changing the world. We will help create, mentor, and support new local Rotaract and Interact clubs to help develop the Rotarians of the future. Lastly, we will refocus our club’s branding and marketing initiatives to showcase all the great accomplishments and activities that our club contributes each year.

Together, the Rotary Club of Grand Junction will inspire and motivate our members to Serve to Change Lives of our community and throughout the world. We hope you will share this adventure with us this year and beyond.

Thank you!
