Host Family Opportunity
Thank you for your interest to learn more about potentially becoming a Rotary Youth Exchange Host Family.
This is a great starting point to find out more and to see if you'd like to continue to become a Host Family!
Attention Potential Host Family,
We have an exciting opportunity for parents who may be interested in broadening their cultural horizons! The Grand Junction Rotary Club takes great pride in sponsoring foreign exchange students, providing both financial support and a warm welcome to our community. Hosting a foreign exchange student is a wonderful way to enrich your family's life:
- Cultural Exchange: Hosting a student allows you to share your culture while learning about theirs. It's a unique opportunity to foster mutual understanding and appreciation of different customs and traditions.
- Global Perspective: By welcoming an international student into your home, you contribute to building bridges across cultures, promoting global awareness, and encouraging lifelong friendships.
- Educational Enrichment: Hosting provides a rich educational experience for both your family and the student. It offers valuable insights into global issues, languages, and perspectives that extend beyond the classroom.
Note: This is a year exchange program. But we try to set up 3host families for the student. The student would live with your family for 3-4 months...not the entire year!
Typical timeframe:
Host Family #1: August to Thanksgiving
Host Family #2: Thanksgiving to March
Host Family #3: March to June
