The Oil and Gas Industry and the Colorado Economy

Simon Lomax is a research fellow with Vital for Colorado, a coalition of state business leaders focused on energy policy. Simon is a former newspaper and wire service reporter. He covered energy policy in Washington, D.C. during the Bush and Obama administrations. In 2012, he left the news business, became a consultant and adviser to pro-business groups, and moved his family to Colorado as fast as he could. Simon has studied energy sector trends and the strategies of environmental activist groups for more than a decade. He’s a frequent guest columnist for newspapers across the state and has testified to Congress about the campaign tactics of anti-fracking groups. Simon lives in the Denver suburbs with his wife and two daughters, but he’s originally from Australia, and is a journalism graduate of the Queensland University of Technology.
