Amazon Smile in 6 steps!
As you're doing your shopping online, did you know that you can support our Rotary Club with every Amazon purchase? Here’s how:
  1. Go to smile.amazon.com (not amazon.com). Amazon Smile is the same company, same account, same password, but the Amazon Smile program gives one half of one percent of every purchase to charity. No, it’s not a lot, but it’s also not nuthin’ (to be exact: about $150 for the Club so far). So again, go to smile.amazon.com
  2. Sign into your Amazon account as you normally would
  3. On the very top left of the page, next to the AmazonSmile logo, are three horizontal bars. Click there for the drop-down menu.
  4. Scroll ALL the way down to “Your AmazonSmile”; it should be the last option right before “Sign Out”; Click on “Your AmazonSmile”
  5. On the right side of the page, click on the “change charity” box under Your current charity (Note: If you are currently supporting another charity, that’s awesome! These instructions are for those who are not doing so. Also, if you have not previously selected a charity, your default option will be St. Judge Children’s Research Hospital.)
  6. Type in Community Service Fund of the Rotary Club of Colorado Springs; click Select
  7. That’s it. You’re all set. Just remember to go to Smile.Amazon.com when you shop from now on.

My husband told me I'm immature. I told him to get outta my fort.

Parallel lines have so much in common. It’s a shame they’ll never meet.

As I suspected, someone has been adding soil to my garden. The plot thickens.

How do crazy people go through the forest? They take the psycho path.

Greetings, Rotarians!

I hope everyone is thriving amidst the chaos of our current world.
"Do I have to wear a mask?"
"Yes, you must!"
"Nah, they don't work anyway"
"Can I catch this virus through shaking hands?"
"Nope; shake away!"
"Yep, better start practicing a good elbow bump"
"Should I stay 6 feet away? Ten feet? Forty feet??"
"Why do they have to stick that thing up my nose so far when supposedly a tiny droplet of saliva will exponentially kill off humanity?"
"Can dogs catch corona virus?"
"Only cats can catch the virus."
"Only dogs that drink outta the toilet can catch it."
"Do you really know?"
"I'm pretty much guessing about everything at this point."

There is no shortage of information out there and it's difficult to differentiate between legitimate and bogus. Sometimes I feel like tuning into the news is a crapshoot. And it's so frustrating! So what do you do? My answer is the same one I frequently tell my friends... you do your best and then give yourself some grace. I've learned a lot about grace in the past 3 years. After my 2017 life-changing accident, so many of my friends told me to give myself some grace, which was really tough for me to understand.

The Google defines grace as "courteous goodwill." It does not, however, say that word is only reserved for others. That lesson was ever so powerful when I joined this club! I saw people being kind-hearted and willing to serve. I saw a lot of people doing a lot of things a lot better than I could. I also saw people occasionally make mistakes and keep right on going like a posterchild for Lessons Learned. And I saw SO MUCH SUPPORT for each other and for the community projects and for making a difference in the world and within ourselves. And now as we navigate through our new norms, it's good to remember that a whole lot of people are doing their best and everyone's best is relative to a lot of variables.

I hope this next week that you're able to grant yourself and those around you some grace. We all deserve a little grace right now.

For the good of Rotary,

Kathleen
