Wow, did we have a great time at the Blind Wine Social! Thank you to Ron for putting the event together, Kay for hosting, and Jane, Tina, and Jordan for being the most gracious wine servers. The event hit this year's club theme of Fellowship, Friendship, and definitely Fun(ship) all at once!
Martin Cook shared a wonderful video update about PEN (Practical Education Network). Earlier this year our club donated $5,000 to assist in the installation of an online training facility to expand the training being provided to teachers. Watch Here

This week we will welcome Nhi Aronheim, Author of Soles of a Survivor. Nhi will share her harrowing journey as a child refugee from Vietnam and how she went on to live the American Dream. She will have signed copies of her book available after the meeting.

I’ve been told that, though I’m only 4’9”, I'll be sharing my story, SOLES of a SURVIVOR with you. Several anthologies have profiled my harrowing journey as a child refugee who went on to live the American Dream. The world desperately needs more stories about tolerance, unity, and how to work together for a common good.
The soles of my feet still bear the scars of my horrific escape from Vietnam—where I trudged through the jungles of Cambodia as a child with a group of strangers seeking the land of opportunity: America. My only possessions at the time were two pieces of clothing and a heart filled with hope.
I’m filled with gratitude for all I’ve been fortunate to accomplish and become in this great country. I hope my Soles of a Survivor story inspires and empowers you. And I hope that, like me, through your challenges, you, too, will find healing and joy.

Come Celebrate Donkey Derby Days in Cripple Creek!
Our social will be Friday evening, August 11th in Cripple Creek to enjoy the festivities - including Wild Blue Country playing at the event. This will be a fun and unique social. Bring your family and maybe even consider staying overnight and enjoying the donkey races on Saturday! More information to come.
Now in its fourth year, the Craig and Kyle Whitney Memorial Golf Tournament was established to provide community service. To-date, this very fun event has been sponsored by a wide range of local businesses and individuals and has raised more than $50,000 to benefit our community through the programs of the Salvation Army and the Rotary Club of Colorado Springs. Beginning last year and now going forward, the Whitney Tournament also provides “scholarships” for First Tee youth.
“Being able to participate in the Whitney Memorial Golf Tournament gave our participants an experience that they will never forget because it gave them a chance to grow and provided them a safe place to fail. They were pushed outside of their comfort zones and were able to rely on all the active learning experiences that we have been teaching them through our life skills and leadership curriculum.”
