Greetings from Cambridge!

I hope you are having a wonderful start to you Holiday Season! I want to apologize for not keeping you more up to date with my studies and experiences here in Cambridge. After I last emailed you, my term really took off and I became overwhelmed with coursework and making the full adjustment/transition to living in England and Cambridge (much more difficult than I expected!). That said, I officially turned in my first big paper last Friday! My paper focused on how distributed/flatter leadership models in schools impact teacher-well being. I've attached a copy, if you are interested in taking a look at my research thus far! Absolutely zero pressure (considering it's fairly long and dense), but it's there if you would like to see what I've been up to academically! Next term, I plan to conduct research (hopefully) in a local Cambridge school as well as some schools in Colorado Springs!

I have been using the past week to slowly decompress and reflect upon my travels/experiences over the past few months. I've started to draft some emails about my travels through Asia this summer, and afterwards plan to write about my first few months in Cambridge (e.g. punting on the cam, joining the soccer/basketball teams for my college, attending Formal Hall dinners, meeting incredible people from all over the world, and presenting at local Rotary Club dinners).

My Rotary hosts here have been absolutely incredible. One of my hosts, Vic Starkey, took me on a tour around the outskirts of Cambridge two weeks ago. It was so nice to get out of the University for a bit, especially considering it was a day when I was feeling particularly stressed about my paper (and a bit homesick). I am always so grateful for the support of The Rotary Club here and in Colorado Springs.

I will be in Colorado Springs for a very quick week (from December 15th - December 22nd). Vic has actually volunteered to give me a ride to Heathrow Airport (so generous!). Please let me know if either of you (or any of the fellow Rotarians) would like to grab a coffee or lunch!

Thank you so much for everything,

Emily
