Program Title: Human Evolution
Human Evolution
Homo sapiens is the only human species left on Earth. Humans emerged around 300,000 years ago, migrated around the world and survived when other hominin species died out. This talk will focus on this remarkable story and will present the evidence that has been uncovered by archeologists, anthropologists and geneticists. This story is Threshold 6 of the Big History Project.
Dr. Carol Mosier Bach was born in Hays, KS and grew up in Spalding, NE. She graduated from Kansas State University and the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. Following medical school, she completed her residency and fellowship at the University of Washington in Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. Dr. Mosier Bach practiced at the University of Washington and Seattle Childrens Hospital for 23 years and was a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics. In 1998, she moved to Colorado Springs and she failed retirement. In 2002, she began her second career in education at School District 11 where she taught 6th grade at Mann Middle School and then became a member of the science faculty at Palmer High School where she taught Biology.
