About Our Club
The Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan was chartered on January 1, 1919, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Marquette, Michigan.
The club boasts being located in the home area of the author of the Four Way Test, Herbert Taylor, who was born in Pickford Michigan and attended high school in Sault Ste. Marie. The club spearheaded a fundraising effort and they have placed a life-sized bronze statue of Taylor, along with the Four Way Test, on a prominent downtown corner for all to see.
Service projects include Vocational Service, Valentine's Party, Rotary Graver Auction, Project Playground, Book Project, Rotary Park, Teacher Awards, Brat sales, Rotary Show of Shows, Bell Ringing, Special Olympics and projects at Hearthside Asst. Living. We volunteer and raise funds to support local projects and youth.
