Donations

The Braselton Rotary Club got an update on June 22 from several service agencies it supports with money donated through the club’s annual fundraisers. Organizations recognized included: RISE, YMCA Winder, Three Dimensional Life, Heirborn Servants, Boy Scouts of America, Atlanta Mission and Eagle Ranch.  Year end contributions to these groups total almost $5,000.

Bingham talks about 3D Life

Braselton Rotary Club president Chad Bingham talks about Three Dimensional Life, a teen drug and alcohol rehabilitation program based in Gainesville. Pictured with Bingham are Tyler Norris, Connor Sayre and Rob Elliott. Sayre also spoke about his experience at Three Dimensional Life after he fell into drug addiction. He described it as a “loop he couldn’t get out of.” Since beginning the 10-month program six months ago, Sayre said he can “feel himself changing.” He plans to take online school and begin dual enrollment in the fall.

YMCA Winder among supported groupsLaurie Healan and Sandee Kuthy talk about YMCA Winder, which has 10,000 members. The organization offers day-camps for children, classes, a walking trail and other camps and lessons. The Braselton Rotary Club’s donation will go towards the YMCA annual campaign to help children in need pay for classes.

Rotary Club member talks about Heirborn

Jon Lewis, a Braselton Rotary Club member, talks about his work with Heirborn Servants. The program offers assistance to people who are exploited and trafficked. Lewis said the program offers faith-based counseling, housing and long-term care. Its mission is to “rescue, restore and mentor.”

Brown gives update on RISE program

Chelsey Brown speaks about RISE, a learning loss prevention summer program offered to low-income families in Gainesville. Brown said the program aims to keep kids learning throughout the summer instead of losing knowledge during the months they are out of school.
