Wine and Cheese pairing
The Braselton Rotary held a night social fundraiser at the Legends clubhouse. There were 75 plus guests in attendance. The guests enjoyed 5 wine pairings with cheese (donated by Whole Foods) throughout the clubhouse. The Rotarians had wine corks for sale to offset cost of the event which continued the next day with a golf tournament to help raise money for the Flag Plaza at the new hospital. The main event of the night was the DaVinci Surgical System. There are only 2 DaVinci machines that travel across the United States. The DaVinci Surgical System is a sophisticated robotic platform designed to expand the surgeon’s capabilities and offer a state-of-the-art minimally invasive option for major surgery.
Although it is often called a “robot”, the DaVinci System cannot move or operate on its own; your surgeon is 100% in control.
Dr. Bret Sharpe, CE homeowner who is a physician with Northeast Georgia was at the event to educate and show how the DaVinci system works.
Dr. Sharpe completed his residency in urology at Emory University in 2005. He is board certified by the American Board of Urology. He has vast experience in minimally invasive treatment of urologic oncology and vaginal prolapse with the DaVinci robot. Dr. Sharpe treats all urological conditions but has special interests in prostate cancer, vaginal prolapse, kidney cancer, and erectile dysfunction. Prior to joining Northeast Georgia Urological Associates he was instrumental in expanding the minimally invasive treatment options and making these options more widely available to the patients of North Alabama. He was the area's first and most experienced robotic surgeon, offering robotic surgery for kidney cancer, cystocele/pelvic prolapse, and kidney drainage reconstruction ( i.e. pyeloplasty ). He was also the first urologist in that area to perform complete laparoscopic procedures such as kidney radiofrequency treatment of renal tumors, pyeloplasty, and pure laparoscopic nephrectomy in that area. He and his wife Victoria have two boys.
