SERINE MATHEA EGGESBO STEIDEL
GRSP NORWAY
CLASS OF 2016-2017

Wow time flies by so fast! I can’t believe it’s been 4 years already! I just went through all my papers and souvenirs from Georgia packing them away in a box... I had my last exam yesterday so today I’m enjoying my first day of summer vacation! Because of corona I haven’t been able to get a job and I won’t be able to go on a vacation outside of Norway so I plan to do a lot of traveling and hiking in Norway this summer☀️after I came home from Georgia I started on the Norwegian School of Economics in Bergen, which was a lot of fun socially, but I didn’t really enjoy the courses so after a year I started at the University of Bergen studying psychology to become a psychologist! It’s a 6 year long education and I just finished my second year... I enjoy it a lot, it is very interesting, but I kinda miss math and a clear answer to things (cause in psychology there are a lot of theories and maybes). Many are also very judgmental since it is the 3rd most difficult study to get into after medicine and nanotechnology in Norway, people also somehow think I will be able to read their mind (my grandfather included) and are kind of intimidated by that... but I enjoy it a lot and there is still more for me to learn so my plan is to finish 4 more years and then figure out what I want to do. I miss and think about my year in Georgia a lot, and it has become a big part of my life. It is weird to think about other students being part of the program after me though, I feel like our group was the one and only. My only regret is that I feel like I didn’t enjoy it enough while it lasted😄
