Donation Apple Dumplings

We were really excited to share Rotary International​'s 4-Way Test with more than 130 second-grade students at Gum Springs Elementary School​ on Monday, Sept. 30.

 

Using an amazing book, "Andy & Elmer's Apple Dumpling Adventure," written by Andrew Shoup, we read the story, sent a copy of the book home with every student, and provided a copy of the book and a poster for all 40 homeroom teachers in the school. In addition, a coloring-and-activity book was provided for every child in the second grade to be used as a follow-up in the classroom.

 

The purchase of the books was paid for with local funds (raised via our $10K Reverse Raffle and our annual golf tournament) and a grant from Rotary District 6910​. Each had a label noting the gift of the book from the Braselton Rotary Club, and the classroom hardback copies noted the topic and name of a weekly speaker from the 2018-2019 Rotary year's meetings as a way to honor those individuals and groups for their presentations to our club.
