Ladies of Lakes go to LUNAFEST

Enjoy an evening out with other Lakes Ladies at LUNAFEST, a traveling film festival celebrating, showcasing and championing women in film. LUNAFEST is creating a platform for women’s untold stories and working to increase opportunities for women filmmakers. Nine films will be shown.

This festival is also a fundraiser for the Minnesota Peacebuilding Leadership Institute, an organization that teaches principles, philosophies, and practices of Restorative justice and trauma awareness that transform trauma survivors into resilient thrivers, grounded in a multicultural perspective.  The program has over 1500 Peacebuilding graduates, eighty percent are women, 33% are from community of color, and the LGBTQ community is well represented. Their Scholarship Fund ensures racial and economic diversity at all community trainings.
