A Successful Sunday at the Mariposa Café: Raising Funds for Local Youth!

We’re thrilled to share the success of our recent Rotary fundraiser, Sunday at the Mariposa Café! Proceeds from this event were split between the Westmount Teen Zone and local projects supporting youth in our community. The afternoon was made even more special with performances from singer Gary White, Ema Jean, Mick O'Grady and Biz Oliver of Chains of Love, and a special guest appearance by Steph Marcq. The music was fantastic and helped create an unforgettable atmosphere.
Thanks to our wonderful participants, attendees, and volunteers, the event raised a total of $4,410! The silent auction was a great success, and every bit of support will go toward making a positive impact on the lives of local youth.
We deeply appreciate everyone who made this event possible. Your generosity continues to strengthen our community and help create opportunities for the young people who need it most.

The Rotary Club of Westmount honoured 2 former members for exemplary long term service by conferring Emeritus Member Awards at a dinner in their honour on July 14, 2022 at Victoria Hall in Westmount.

Lieutenant-Colonel John Shone, former commanding officer of The Royal Montreal Regiment, spoke eloquently of Nadia and Sandy's decades of service in his opening remarks.
Also present were Gary White, former Rotarian and veteran of the Montreal music scene, who performed at the event, as well as family and friends of Nadia and Sandy.

Ukrainian refugees need our support and Rotary clubs all over the world are stepping up to unite for this initiative.
We have teamed up with the five Rotary clubs of Iași in Romania, where thousands of Ukrainian refugees are urgently seeking services and support. The "Rotary Helping Ukraine" local action group is pursuing a two-pronged approach to this end:
- the establishment of a "Rotary Helping Ukraine" emergency fund which has already collected more than 20,000 Euros
- the establishment of a 24/7 information centre at Iași International Airport
Our event on March 27 in collaboration with Ye Olde Orchard Pub on rue de la Montagne, White Dawg Project, and Mize Uzan was an incredible success! We raised more than $7,000 and continue to receive donations that are making a real difference!
Any and all donations made through our website, our page on Canada Helps, or directly to our office via eTransfer or cheque will be used to provide urgent relief to Ukrainian refugees. Tax receipts are available for donations of a minimum of $3 made through Canada Helps and a minimum of $25 directly to our club. Don't hesitate to contact us through the contact form on our website, via email, or on our FaceBook page for more information.

The Art for Healing Foundation has teamed up with local photographer and former Director of the Westmount Historical Association, Doreen Lindsay, to display fourteen photographs of important buildings in Westmount. The images are accompanied by historical information about each site and displayed in Manoir Westmount.
Thanks to Doreen Lindsay, the Westmount Historical Association and the estate of Elli Jarvis for making this project possible.

An enormous THANK YOU to Hunter Amenities for their generous donation of $9,000 worth of hand sanitizers for organizations working with Montreal's homeless community.
