Sundays weather forecast of 60% chance of rain for the day  was not favorable for our plan to use the fire fighters BBQ pit to cook hamburgers for the homeless at Loaves and Fishes on Sunday but we were blessed that even though it was raining on our way there, the rain stopped and we were able to cook all of 240.00 hamburger patties without a drop of rain.  All the staff and the homeless people were very grateful to receive a hot meal since most of the time that they are lucky to receive a lunch meal, it is a cold meal. Our grand daughter Angelica invited 12 of her school classmates and they all want to participate in this project again they sure made a big difference and their help was greatly appreciated, we also had help from Skeeter from the Harrisburg club, my good friend Frank Parrilla from the West U club, ( Frank manned one of the grills) and our friend and current club president of the Galena Park club Maria Rodrigez Cortez. Present from our club; Carmen Cuneo, Julia Maldonado, Homero Lopez, Mitchell Lou, my compadre Jerry Harris. Our son Rudy and two grand daughters Angelica and Aracely and cudos to my wife Olga for keeping us all focused and making sure everything went well. Hats off to Homero for buying fajitas for the crew and to Olga for taking all of the  teenagers who volunteered to lunch!  A big thank you to non rotarian friends who helped; Robert Hannasch and a friend from Knights of Columbus, and Stacey Spitzmueller
