The club has wrapped-up its support for the 2009-10 Tampico Campestre Rotary's Tampico Fire Department Project with the delivery of the second fire truck to the Customs Broker facility in Pharr, TX on Saturday..

At the Pharr warehouse undergoing documentation preparation for approval to enter into Mexico are:
1) a ladder/firetruck acquired by RCUA from Wharton fire department
2) three truckloads of surplus Houston Fire Department equipment donated by the City of Houston
3) a firetruck paid for by the Tampico Rotary and acquired from the Burton Voluntary Fire Department

A delegation from the Tampico Campestre Rotary visited Houston in November 2009 and described their club's project to update the City of Tampico's Fire Department to both the RCUA and to the Houston Fire Department. Thanks to the support from Capt Homero Ponce-Lopez, the Houston Fire Department, the Houston City Council and this club, much of the delegation's requests were fulfilled.

On May 28, 2010 there will be a ceremony in Tampico transferring this equipment to the City of Tampico. Everyone in this club is invited, encouraged and welcome to attend this celebration. Let President Art know your intentions ahead of time so he can have arrangements made for your visit.

Kudos is due to President Art for his effective and inspirational leadership with this successful International Tampico project.
