Fun with Interact & the Big Drawing

We had a great meeting - filled to the brim with activities.   We started out by giving gifts to Frankie (the owner of Ali of fame from our Cow Chip Bingo).  We saw the video Cow Chip Bingo YouTube and presented Frankie with some gifts and praise for his performance.

Clark sold his 2 for 1 Showcase Tickets - a great downtown event planned for Saturday Sept. 28th. We heard about a great event planned at Coon Creek - a trap/sporting clay event by the South Yuba Club (might be fun).

Truman encouraged us to sign up for the October 1 South Placer Rotary Club golf tournament - let him know if you can play on October 1 - at Catta Verdera.  Spouse are eligible to play. Quite a few anniversaries, Kris and Joe on 9/11 and Chris on 9/10/11 at 12noon!.

We have two social events; Sept 29 3-4pm informal social social at Goat Head Brewery on Wise Road and Oct 12 3-6pm party at the Wyatt's. Bring potential new members to introduce them to the club.  Sign-up required for the "party" let Dan or Melanie know.

Nite at the Races is the big October event.  Make sure and sell your tickets; see if you can get a table of ten so you can have a fun night with your freinds. Buy tickets on line at

We presented a check to Renee Mahaffey from the Lincoln library. This will be used to buy books that Rotary purchases and provided to the library in the name of our speakers.

Isaac Kelly and Matt Andersion from Interact showed us how being very implicit and specific with instructions was important.  The peanut butter and jelly sandwich made using instructions from Joe Stewart (who had to look the other way) was not very edible, cute but not really edible.

The drawing for the entire pot of gold was won by Joe Stewart (who also was a winner for Cow Chip Bingo).  Joe promised to be back with some contributions to the club and the RI foundation.

Remember, next week we have District Governor Bill Short as our speaker/guest.  Let's have a big attendance and wear those Red Shirts!
