At our Apr 16, 2014 meeting our speaker was Lisa White from the Doylestown Food Co-op. The Co-op store is located at 29 West State Street in Doylestown and is open to members and to the public.
The purpose of the co-op is to keep local farmers farming and nourish our families with fresh, local food. The co-op is a member owned organization but membership is not required to shop there. Lisa pointed out that three of our Rotarians are already members of the co-op. People who join the co-op, fund the capital needs of the store. The current store is 1,400 square feet but they hope to find a much larger location in the future. In addition to produce, they carry everything you could possibly want to eat and are open 6 days a week. http://www.doylestown.coop
