Guest Speaker:

Cathy Henry introduced Kris Akilie on the occasion of her Classification talk. She has known Kris for many years and was pleased to introduce her to Rotary.

Kris began by thanking Dan for calling her on Friday to give her the "opportunity" to speak today! Although she spoke to our club less than six months ago on Mainstream where she works as Commuunications and Community Development Co-ordinator she was happy to share her personal background with us today.

Kris gave us a brief bio starting with her beginnings in Fonthill, some tidbits on her family and her career path . She first met June Manning while horseback riding and has known Cathy Henry for many years socially and through various committee work. Whereas she began her studies in pharmacy she soon ended up in a career in banking and now enjoys a rewarding role in community service with Mainstream. Kris spoke very well today and she gives some of the credit to her participation in the Toastmasters program where she honed her public speaking skills.

Attendance Report: Today's lesson in creative math was provided by Norris Brown. I'm still trying to figure it out.
