Dr. George Fitzpatrick, serving as Sergeant-at-Arms, applauded Past President Paul for being such a wonderful President this past Rotary year. Happy dollars were accepted from:
Beth Cockcroft - attended the wonderful gold medal awards evening at Westpark School;
Arie Vrugteveen - paid his first HST;
Laetitia de Witt - mirrored George's comments about the excellent leadership of Paul;
Dan Toppari - acknowledged Jim Hooper's attendance at the Buffalo Bison game and
noticed Jim's face on the garbage receptacle billboards;
Jim Hooper - is getting more notice from the billboards than the local paper;
Sheila Bristo - happy that she already had three volunteers for bingo on Friday;
June Manning - hoped that Dragon Boat day was not as hot as today;
Rob Welch - mirrored George and Laetitia abut the excellent job of Past President Paul.

Take It to Heart Gala, Novermber 13th, 2010 - Cathy has requested that club companies consider sponsoring an ad, meal course or donation to the Lab.
GSE, September 20-24th - Jim Hooper announced that we would have a GSE guest arriving in Canada September 20-24th and requested accommodation for: Eun-Jung Sim, female, born 1970, married with two children, works for International trade and Cooperation at Dong-Hae City Hall, Gangwon Province. Eun-Jung Sim would prefer to billet without pets and would like to visit public offices to help understand how we serve our local citizens.

INDUCTION OF NEW BOARD
Ed introduced all the new Board members and listed their responsibilities for this new Rotary year. He then presented Paul with the Past President's Pin.

The Oath of Office was then administered and the new Board officially inducted.
EARLY LEAVERS
Dr. David Henry expressed his regrets to our Guest Speaker and President and took early leave.
GUEST SPEAKER, JOHN TEIBERT, PRESIDENT
John spoke eloquently about how some, but not all things, have changed since he was first President twelve years ago.
This year's RI President is Ray Klinginsmith - a cowboy from Texas whose theme is "Building Communities - Bridging Continents". Our District Governor is Karen Oakes.
Over the years, John felt that whenever he agreed to fulfill a request, good things happened to him. He said yes 12 years ago and enjoyed the Presidency then and this year again said yes and looks forward to an enjoyable year with a great club and Board of Directors.
When asked what his goals are, John stated that he wanted everyone to enjoy their Rotary year be it through club service, community service or fellowship. He asked for help, input and participation from all club members to make this a fun year.
Relating his experiences at the Rotary International Conference in Montreal when RI President John Kenney took to the stage, everyone knew his theme song: "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands". When the Ray Klinginsmith took to the stage, no one recognized his cowboy song: "Cowboy Logic. President Klinginsmith then expanded his theme to Cowboy Ethics and how it relates to Rotary: Take Pride In Your Work, Talk Less But Say More, Do What Has To Be Done and Remember: Some Things Just Aren't For Sale. Building on that theme, President Klinginsmith wants our clubs to be Bigger, Better and Bolder. Don't be shy, let people know what Rotary is involved in, wear your pin every day, be innovative, take a fresh look at everything we do. If there's a better way to do something then start a new tradition.
John presented the new Strategic Plan and Core Values from the Conference (see enclosed).
E-clubs have now officially been recognized. There is a new avenue of service - New Generations - Kris Akilie will be the Director responsible for this. All Rotarians in North America will have a choice of receiving The Rotarian Magazine by email or hard copy, the Immediate Past President is considered a Club Officer, transfers of Rotarians from one club to another can only happen when the new club receives a letter that the transferring Rotarian was a member in good standing and all debts paid, the provision for excused attendance was changed and the rule of 85 will be only available to those over 65. There is to be a renewed focus on Vocational Service to promote networking and tasteful business promotion.
John met Julie Cugalj, an Ambassadorial Scholar from Welland who spoke to our club on her return to Canada. John was on the selection committee. Julie is now a Rotarian on Ottawa. As Dan says, the farm system works!
John thanked the club for sponsoring his attendance at the convention and felt that it completed his training. It confirmed his belief that everyone should be willing to serve, in some capacity, whether it is volunteering at a church, or local charity, a service organization like Rotary, or simply by helping a neighbour. We all have a responsibility to serve, and John, as President, and the Board will help you to meet this responsibility in a fun way.
ATTENDANCE REPORT
Norris reported 19 members, five make ups, and three guests for 75 per cent attendance.
ADJOURNMENT
As there was no further business for the good of Rotary, President John wished everyone a good week in Rotary and adjourned the meeting at 1:15 p.m.
