"Paul Monaghan was a dedicated and focused President, who helped to further strengthen the Rotary Club of St. Catharines South."

 - John Teibert, President, Rotary Club of St. Catharines South

Paul has been a resident of Niagara since 1975. He is married to his lovely wife, Janet, and they have three grown children, Ryan, Justin, and Rachael, and three grandchildren, Katelyn, Andrew, and Adam.

Paul was a long-time member of Scouts Canada, serving in various leadership roles until reaching the position of President of the Niagara District Council. He joined the Rotary Club of Niagara Falls Sunrise in 1993 and served as President in the year 2000-2001.

Starting a second career in 2004, Paul joined the staff of the George Darte Funeral Chapel in St. Catharines as General Manager. To help encourage local community involvement among his team members, Paul joined the Rotary Club of St. Catharines South. In 2009-2010, Paul served as Club President and helped to foster understanding and fellowship among club members through such initiatives as "Who's Who," which spotlight the background and achievements of each Rotarian. Today, Paul serves as Past President ensuring that the board continues good governance.

Paul's Rotary highlight to date was the Rotary International Convention held in Birmingham, England. There, Paul and Janet learned first-hand the strength and influence that Rotary has on the world. Paul says, "All Rotarians should attend at least one Rotary International Convention. It is a life-changing experience, shared with 20,000 other like-minded people. Put it in your bucket list!" As for being a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, Paul is humbled and extremely proud.

For his effective leadership, the Rotary Club of St. Catharines South is proud to recognize Paul Monaghan as a Paul Harris Fellow.
