Fox Theater Foundation
Andy McWhirter has been working with the Fox Theatre Foundation literally, since the project started. The Fox Theatre Foundation was established in 1999, with the mission to rehabilitate, renovate, and reopen the historic Fox Tucson Theatre. At that time, Andy was one of the first volunteers to assist with cleaning out thirty years of debris and associated demolition work required prior to reconstruction of the interior of the building. For the last five years he has been serving a second term as a member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation and is currently Chairman of the Wurlitzer Committee. The Wurlitzer Committee is actively working on reinstalling a 1920’s era “Mighty Wurlitzer” pipe organ into the theater.
Karen Fogas brings more than twenty years of experience in nonprofit leadership to her position as Development Director for the Fox Tucson Theatre, including most recently as the Executive Director of Tucson Audubon Society. Prior to that, she led the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire as its CEO for nearly 10 years. A supporter of the arts for many years, Karen enjoys being part of the community of supporters who love the “Crown Jewel of Downtown” and wish to see it continue to be our community’s premiere performing arts center.
