On October 24th, Carol Farmer and Casey Holt, addressed a joint meeting of the Rotary Club of Nashua and the Rotary Club of Nashua West, regarding World Polio Day. Rotary is asking each Rotarian to donate $26.50 which will be matched 2-1 by the Gates Foundation.  We then watched a short video about immunization.  The video and more information can be found at www.endpolionow.org.

Casey Holt spoke about a project on which his club is the Czech Republic is spearheading call, WASH in Schools and Communities in Rural India.  They are working to obtain a global grant with Rotary International.

Casey’s Rotary in the Czech Republic has done work in rural India schools in the past.  This new project is an extension of past projects.  This project will bring potable water, and sanitation resources, education, and facilities to rural schools.  It is a two year project that will impact 5000 people in five rural areas.  The project will cost $63,000.

Currently, Casey’s Rotary Club, has a Rotary Club partner in India.  Five Rotary Clubs have committed $5000 each to the project.   Casey asked that Nashua Rotary and Nashua Rotary West consider becoming a partner on the project and contributing $5000 each to the project.  As soon as project is approved as a global grant with RI then our funds will be matched.
