The Thank You Project

On September 26th, Charles Uwakwe Okorie, addressed the Rotary Club of Nashua regarding his foundation Thank You Project, which he established as a way to give back for the successes he has experienced in his life, especially since moving to this area. In 1999, Charles and his family relocated to Nashua from Nigeria where he still has family and friends.
The biggest obstacle for an improved life and extended mortality in Nigeria is the lack of clean water. Most people in Nigeria need to walk over a mile for water and need to make the trip multiple times each day, the trips are mostly done by women and children. Charles wants to raise funds for water wells to be installed in the local villages. His foundation’s other goals are to establish scholarships for medical students and to fund the building of churches in the villages.
