On August 29th, Jeremy Griffths the STEM coordinator for the Adult Learning Center, addressed the Rotary Club of Nashua regarding STEM integrations in local elementary schools. Jeremy explained STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and math. He focuses on introducing STEM to students at a young age to advance the field.
He runs the Xploration program; similar to an in-school field trip that brings fun learning experiences to the school. Teachers can look at the catalog of experiences and schedule them for their classroom. It is an excellent workshop teaching auxiliary for our local schools.
In 2021-2022, he visited 14 towns/22 schools, and did 243 workshops.
Xploration is sponsored by BAE Systems and Pennichuck Water Service.
Students study a variety of topics, including lights & lasers, robotics, and computer programming.
He shared pictures of his students thriving doing different activities, and answered questions from Rotarians.
