On January 4th, Carly Fiorina, Republican Presidential Candidate, addressed the Rotary Club of Nashua regarding her candidacy. Carly begins with her own happy fines:  Happy to have Ovide LaMontagne as her State Chairman.  Happy to be back in NH.  She owes the people of the Granite State a very special debt of gratitude for ignoring the polls & fundraising reports, showing up at town halls, listening to her and taking her seriously.  She also owes Rotarians a debt of gratitude.  A gentleman at a Seacoast Rotary first planted the seed in her mind that we have reached a pivotal point in our Nation’s history and she needed to consider offering her leadership to our Nation at this time.  Only in this Nation could she began as a secretary in the deep recession of the 70’s, become the CEO of the largest technology company in the world and run for the Presidency of the United States.

She grew up with the values that define her character:  merit over privilege, hard work over entitlement, saying yes over no it cannot be done.  We should not settle for a Nation with record numbers of men out of work & women living in poverty.  We should not settle for young people thinking the American Dream is just not possible anymore; for middle class wages being stagnate for decades; for small businesses being crushed and the entrepreneurial spirit that goes along with them; for the rich and powerful getting richer; and we should no longer settle for a government that no longer serves the people that pay for it.  75% of the American people now think the Federal Government is corrupt.  We can only solve our problems and heal our wounds as a Nation if we restore power where it belongs, to the citizens of this Nation.  It is time to take our country, our future, our politics, our government and our country back.  These are the first and most important things that must be done.  WE need to nominate and elect a leader who understands how the economy works, how the world works, who understands bureaucracies, understands technology and how it is being used as a weapon against us.  WE need a leader who challenges the status quo, can work with others to solve festering problems, sees possibilities and works with others to seize these possibilities.  WE the people have the power to hold government and government officials accountable and take our country back.

Q:  How are you going to solve the immigration problem?  A:  Have to secure our borders and enforce a pro American legal immigration strategy.  This takes money, manpower, technology and leadership.

Q:  Can the Republican nominee beat Hillary Clinton?  A:  We need a nominee who can stand toe-to-toe with Hillary and deny her ability to avoid talking about anything except the historic nature of her candidacy instead of her track record, trustworthiness and policies.

Q:  If you win the Presidency, how do you bridge both sides together since Obama has never been able to do it?  A:  Obama is a typical politician, talking about one thing and doing something totally different.  80% of the American people believe we have a professional, political class of both parties concerned more about their power, position, and privilege than getting anything done.  PRESSURE works with politicians to get things done.  The 73,000 page tax code is 20 years old will be revised to 3 pages and lift the weight of complexity off the backs of the American people.  Go to zero-based budgeting (that right now no one wants to vote on) with the input of our citizens.

Q:  How would you go about defeating ISIS since they are not in one place?  A:  We must deny them territory with the help of Sunni/Arab allies and our leadership.  We must stand with the State of Israel always.  New deal with Iran:  until you open every military and every nuclear facility anytime, anywhere and inspected by our people we will make it as difficult as possible for you to move money.  We must cut off the money flow which is being used to fund terrorism, build nuclear capabilities and fire missiles in violation of the current agreement.

Q:  AS President of the US, the most powerful person in the world, what is your biggest fear?  A:  I do not fear the American people will not be up to this task.  We can defeat our enemies and keep our Nation safe, we have to be clear-eyed.  ISIS is an enemy that must be defeated, Iran is our enemy, Russia is not our friend, and China is a rising adversary.  I am not afraid we cannot solve our problems.  We have to be clear-eyed that none of this will be quick & easy, we face real enemies (not climate change, gun control).

Q:  What are your thoughts on the CFPB and how it is run?  A:  The CFPB is a vast government bureaucracy with no congressional oversight.  The CFPB is combing through 600,000,000 mortgage applications (which contains the most personal information we have) searching for fraud.  I don’t care for this type of bureaucracy.  Socialism starts when government creates a problem and then solves the problem and we lose our power as citizens along the way.

Q:  What about our military not being powerful enough to defeat ISIS?  A:  We have to have the strongest military on the face of this planet and everyone has to know it.  The Government spends more money every year and we do not have enough for the military.  We need to change how we budget. Any dollar that cannot be justified will be cut.

Q:  What is your stance on the cost of higher education?  A:  The Federal Government has taken over the student loan business and taken away competitiveness and increased the rate.  They are making money off the student loans and put so many regulations on higher education.  We need to get the government out of the higher education business.

Thank you Carly for your time and specificity.
