On March 18, 2012, Temple Beth Abraham awarded its annual  Community Service award to Attorney William H. Barry. Attorney Barry is a member of the Beth Abraham community and a member of the Rotary Club of Nashua.

The Temple donated $500 to The Rotary Foundation, in Bill's name, as a thank you for his community service. Each $1000 donation the Foundation earns the donor a Paul Harris Fellow Award. Bill has already received one Paul Harris Fellow award, and had recently contributed another $500 toward his second award.

Rotarian, Sy Mahfuz, a past recipient of the Community Service award, presented Bill with his second Paul Harris pin as part of the March 18 ceremony.

This Paul Harris award is special because it represents two important organizations to which Bill and his family have been very generous: Temple Beth Abraham and Rotary International.

Nearly $70,000,000 is raised per year by the Rotary Foundation, and about 80% of those funds come from Paul Harris Fellows.  There are about 700,000 Paul Harris Fellows and multi-Fellows in the world. They are the backbone of the annual support to The Rotary Foundation and those donations are the reason that Rotarians can carry on world-wide educational and humanitarian programs.
