On November 16th Paul Shea, Executive Director of Great American Downtown in Nashua, addressed the Rotary Club of Nashua regarding the Great American Downtown in Nashua. Paul is a Registered Nurse (BSN), Master Gardener, board member of Gate City Community Gardens Inc., City Arts Nashua, iUGO Nashua, as well as an avid volunteer for various civic and community oriented programs and projects.

Paul stated the goal of the Great American Downtown is to create a “lasting and consistent sense of vibrancy in our down town.”
Paul shared these thoughts:
  • “Although our economy has changed, our form factor has not.”
  • Shared culture makes a stronger community
  • There will be new surprises at this year’s Holiday Stroll; including, a Festival of Lights, Bollywood dancing, Indian music and sand painting.
  • Steampunk City Market has >50% vendors are farmers and some bakery, jams and jellies, and wines all locally produced. Once there is a critical mass, the market will expand to include niche vendors. They accept SNAP/EBT as well.
