On August 7th, Phil Hueber, co-founder of Pure Waters and owner of the Chesterfield Inn, addressed the Rotary Club of Nashua regarding the Granite State Children’s Alliance.
Phil provided a quick update on Pure Waters, the organization has been successful in providing over 1 million households in 3rd world countries with clean water. The organization first started in El Salvador and has spread to Haiti and Honduras.
Phil’s topic of the day was his association with Granite State Children’s Alliance. The GSCA is a non-profit organization which helps interview children who are ages 3 to 17 and are victims of sexual abuse, felony level physical abuse or if the child has witnessed a violent crime such as domestic violence, homicide or suicide. Referrals are made to various centers by DCYF or law enforcement to conduct forensic interviews of the victim. The forensic interviewer is specially trained and experienced in talking with children. All of the interviews are recorded and are shared with prosecution and defense teams so that the child is only interviewed once. There are 11 centers throughout NH which conduct approximately 2,300 interviews each year.
