On July 8th, Charlene DeCesare, CEO of Charlene Ignites, LLC and Founder of Firewalk Sales, addressed the Rotary club of Nashua regarding, helping businesses and organizations with vital guidance in sales training.
Charlene is a motivational speaker inspired by a visit to Wonder Valley Ranch in California. This is where she experienced her first fire walk. Fire-walk Sales was the outcome of the fire-walk. Here are the ten lessons she learned from the experience:
- Find, face and explore your fears. Almost all fears are learned. Fear of falling and loud noises are innate. Other fears are an adaptive behavior you learn to survive.
- Calm your mind, set your intention, state your goals. Clarity is power. (1900 certified fire-walking experts in country – and fire-walking has been around since 1200 BC)
- Take 100% responsibility for your own experience. Event + response = Outcome. How you do anything is how you do everything.
- Trust in your guides. Trust in your path. You will always get what you need. Trust your coaches.
- Be uncomfortable with being uncomfortable. Change happens outside your comfort zone. Change usually makes you suspect loss, but not necessarily so.
- Walk with confidence. Bask in belief. Increased confidence brings increased capacity. (Fire-walk requires the correct type of wood – cherry. Walk with pace, evenly clear past the finish. No running or scrunching toes. Layer of ash over coals is an insulator. Always done at night to be more visually dramatic.)
- Set your pace. Take one step at a time. Always go thru the finish line.
- Be generous with love & support. Generously encourage others.
- Don’t let small bits stick around and ruin a great day. Let that little stuff go. “If you meet two jerks in a single day, chances are you are one of them.”
- Celebrate your accomplishments. Positive takes repetition. Negative is instant.
