On March 12, our club was visited by Gwen Krailo and Brian Hooper, representing Building Dreams for Marines. They are the co-founders of that organization, and they came to tell us about the good work that their organization accomplishes.

Gwen moved to Nashua in 1981 with the belief that you should give something back to your community. She:

  • Served 12 years on the Nashua Zoning Board of Adjustment
  • Was a Charter Member of the Nashua Task Force that ultimately led to the foundation of Keystone Hall
  • Was co-founder of Nashua Police Athletic League and served as Executive Secretary for 20 years
  • Discovered curling and became totally addicted. Has curled in National Competition and internationally.

When her son joined the Marine Corps 12 years ago she wanted to do something to say thank you to all Marines for their service. She became the Family Readiness Officer for Bravo Company out of Londonderry, NH 11 years ago which means she is the 1st point of contact for any Marine family if they have a problem.

Building Dreams for Marines has been established to assist Marines who have honorably served and have a physically-limiting condition, with life-enhancing modifications to their homes. For our brave men and women who have lost some aspect of their mobility, Building Dreams for Marines steps in to provide no-cost planning, designing and building services.

You can be a part of this important program to honor those who have served their country by volunteering your time to help with renovations, supplying materials and by providing financial support.

Visit the Building Dreams website for more information.

Building Dreams for Marines is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that relies completely on donations to support our mission. Donations in any amount are gratefully accepted and put to use directly on home renovations for Marine veterans.
