On November 19th, Joy Peterson, Lifestyle Consultant/Marketing & Sales for At Home by Hunt, addressed the Rotary Club of Nashua regarding, Home By Hunt. At Home By Hunt is an option for healthy, active 62+ adults who want to have a long term care plan in place for tomorrow.
  • 10,000 people are turning 65 every day. 70% of those people need long-term care.
  • New trend in the US – Continuing care at home – referred to as a Life Plan Community without Walls – brings “Hunt Community” into the home without residents leaving the home. This allows residents to receive care & services they need.
  • Long–term care is expensive - 4 hours/per day – at home help: $40K/yr. Assisted living - $70K/yr, Specialized memory care $100K, Nursing Home – private room: $144K. With the At Home Program, members pay a 1 time fee based on age and a monthly payment for services for a fraction of the cost.
  • Members are provided with the tools and resources necessary to maintain their independence by living a healthy lifestyle and providing personalized, high quality home-health services as they become needed.
  • Membership eligibility – 62 years + There is no maximum age. Person must have residency in NH. Medical approval is done on a case-by case basis. A person must be in good health, be active and living independently in their home. Financially make sure members are comfortable with paying the fees. Finances are evaluated to ensure affordability for today and in the future.
  • Question: There are certain diagnosises that might exclude someone from membership would diabetes/hypertension excluded someone? Answer: If a chronic illness is well controlled a person will qualify. Most are a case by case basis.
  • Question: What if you are not comfortable with the person who is assigned to come to your home? Answer: It’s the relationship you build with the personal care coordinator – they know your like & dislikes. They can have those assignment changes in place as quickly as the next day.
  • Question: What is the average age people join? Answer: 72
