Amigos De Honduras

On November 23rd Chris Parkinson, past District Governor of Rotary District 7870, addressed the Rotary Club of Nashua regarding the Amigos de Honduras Project. Chris has been associated with Amigos de Honduras Project for the last 15 years. The project provides medical and dental treatments/supplies/education; builds/repairs schools; provides school uniforms & supplies; supports Pure Water for the World with water filters and latrines/ and ship medical equipment.
Have done 26 missions in the 15 years: 24,000 patients seen for medical/dental; built 7 new schools, 2 additions, repaired 8; provided school uniforms to 225 kids; installed 2500 filters for Pure Water and provided funds for over 10,000; installed 12 latrines and provided funds for many more; shipped 7 40’ medical containers. Honduras is a dangerous place in the world so we concentrate efforts in Danli area where it is safer and there is a lot of need. Seeking additional volunteers (doctors, nurses, medical staff, & others) for the 2016 project (Jan. 30-Feb.7). Cost of airfare is around $600 and $25/day for hotel. Chris closed with a song he wrote for Rotary, “Won’t You Come Along with Me”.
