37 requests received for a total of $129,000 – and over 500 pages of reading.  The Committee finalized on 10 awards totaling $25,250.00.  
  1. Nashua Children’s Home - $2,500 for their Transitional Living Program helping to support five apartments for deserving Clients.
  2. YMCA of Greater Nashua - $2,500 for Summer Reading Program for Disadvantaged Youths.
  3. Boys & Girls Club of Nashua - $1,000 for Youth Hydration Centers.
  4. Adult Learning Center - $2,600 for outdoor storage shed replacement.
  5. Police Athletic League - $2,500 toward major building renovation fund effort.
  6. Corpus Christie Food Pantry - $900 for portable air conditioning
  7. Grow Nashua - $5,000 to build another community garden site ( 4th ?? ) to be utilized and shared within a neighborhood.   “Build Communities through Food” mission statement. 
  8. Meals Matter.  $5,000 for 5 “Share Carts” to help enhance the probability that every kid gets a meal(s) while at school. 
  9. The PLUS Company.  $1,750 Job Smart Retention program.  People Learning Useful Skills. Great presentation by PLUS client – explaining the process and her goals and accomplishments. 
  10. Nashua International Sculpture Symposium.  $1,500 toward tools and equipment for visiting artists.   Since 2008 – 33 pieces have been sculptured and placed around Nashua by visiting artists from all over the world (3 per year).   Nashua is the only city in the U.S.A. with this program.
