Membership expectations
Commitment
- The vibrancy of our Club is directly dependent upon the active engagement our members. Membership is by invitation only and continued membership is earned through active engagement in the full range of Club activities.
Engagement
- We have regularly scheduled meetings as well as numerous service, social, and public events. We understand members can’t attend every meeting or activity, but expect our members to strongly support and participate in the Club's activities. Active engagement benefits the member directly as well as making membership meaningful to others.
Club financial obligations
- Membership in the Nashua Rotary Club is offered for an annual membership fee of $400. Costs of meals and other events are additional. To remain in good standing, club members contribute annual dues.
Community service
- Our Club is committed to serving our community as well as our members. We plan and execute numerous events each year, including community service events, Club social events, and other events that promote the Rotary brand and image.
Fundraising
- We have annual goals for our fund-raising events and we funnel all the money back into the community by way of various gifts to non-profit agencies. We have an annual scholarship fund, as well as various other grants that we award every year. We have a long-standing tradition as a global organization whose purpose is to encourage and provide a helping hand to those in need.
Rotary International Foundation
- As part of the larger Rotary International community, Club members are encouraged to make annual contributions of at least $100 to the Rotary International Foundation.
Membership process
Member Interest form
- The membership process starts with the submission of a Member Interest form, which is available at the bottom of the website "Becoming a Member" page
Membership Interview invitation
- Membership interest forms are reviewed by our Membership committee, and you will be notified within one week if the committee is able to move you forward in the membership process.
Membership informational interview
- If the Membership committee determines that you may be qualified for a membership offer, they will arrange an in-person informational interview for you with members of the committee.
Meeting attendance
- Following the membership interview, If you and the comittee decide to move foward toward membership, you will be invited to attend a Club public meeting. This will allow you to meet our Club members and learn more about the work of our Club and Rotary International.
Membership invitation
- Your interest in membership will be shared with all Club members in our weekly newsletter and you will be contacted within two weeks with your application status.
Membership dues payment
- When you receive your invitation to join our Club you will also receive an invoice for the first year's membership dues. Your dues will be pro-rated in alignment with our annual membership period.
Member induction
- Upon payment of your dues you will be inducted into the Club at the next Club meeting.
One-year mentorship
- All new members begin as a “Red Badge member” signifying they are new to the club. These members will be paired with two or more sponsors who will serve as their mentors and guide them through their first year of Club membership. Upon successful completion of the first year, new members will graduate to “Blue Badge” status.
